TOPSoccer isn't about wins, losses, or standings. It's about giving each athlete
a safe, supportive, and genuinely fun place to play. Run under the umbrella of
US Youth Soccer and New Jersey Youth Soccer, our program brings the joy of the
game to players who might not otherwise find a spot in traditional youth soccer.
What Makes TOPSoccer Different
- Grouped by ability, not age. Players develop at their own pace alongside teammates with similar skills, so every practice feels like a win.
- Trained coaches. Our coaches work with players of all abilities and adapt activities so every athlete can be successful.
- One-on-one Buddies. Each player is paired with a volunteer Buddy — typically an older youth soccer player from our community — who plays alongside them, encourages them, and helps make sure they're having a great time.
- A real Branchburg experience. TOPSoccer plays on the same fields and on the same Saturdays as the rest of our BITS program, because inclusion isn't a side event — it's part of who we are.
Who Can Play
TOPSoccer is open to any Branchburg-area child or young adult with a physical,
intellectual, or developmental disability. Players don't need prior soccer
experience — just a willingness to come out and have fun. Sneakers and shin
guards are required; cleats are not permitted.
The Buddy Program
Our Buddies are the heart of TOPSoccer. Volunteers are paired with a TOPSoccer
player for the season and help with drills, games, encouragement, and friendship.
It's one of the most rewarding ways young people in Branchburg can give back —
and many of our Buddies say they take more away from the season than their player
does. Buddy volunteers are typically rec-age soccer players and older; community
service hours are available for those who need them.
